LBTS Dec 23rd. Evening dive.

hmmm.... a noob doing their first night beach dive (new location for them) in the ocean with poor vis, surge, and rental equipment. The problem with this is???
(I think you made the right choice...however others may still want to dive)

Well, I have done dives in the ocean, have dealt with poor viz, surge & rental equipment (tho I wouldn't have been using rental gear anyway) so, I wouldn't have minded giving it a go. I am a hardy :newbie: and considering my last dive was 41° wet (no WWW here ) and I would be diving with THE KCM, I don't think it would have been too bad. But I will follow my KCM's lead and bow to his more experienced judgement ldman:

Even if it calls the dive...

Not offended. Just setting the record straight. I wouldn't mind giving it a try, but Smoke knows the area better. I REALLY want to dive while I am down there, but there is always Monday.
