Hi please give me some advice on the following:

First, I need to stay 1 day layover in Manila to catch my flight to Koror next day. Where should I stay for that? Somewhere close to the airport I would think..and around how much would the taxi cost, etc.

Second on my way back from Palau I will arrive in Manila and I would like to head to Bohol to do 3-4 days diving. Do I go straight to the airport and book a flight to Cebu? What's the best way to get there from Manila? Where should I stay? etc. in other words travel information.

Thanks

hmmm... near the airport... you want somethiing posh or simple? there are a decent number in the area of the airport...

i would suggest you book your ticket to cebu or bohol already (don't know if there's a flight to cebu from palau, if there is take it!) that way you don't have to worry about availabilities and you can plan your arrival and any transfers (get the whole flying thing done in 1 day IMO)

caloy (clgsamson) is the resident expert on bohol, so he ought to be chiming in soon

have fun!

no flight to Cebu from Palau....

Mind you there is talk of a flight to Davao, Mindanao in the next little while.... i think Asian Spirit? Would at least give an option to Manila....

If you know what day and time you're coming back from Palau (usually on a Wednesday, 11:30am)....book now, same day flight 3pm or 4pm. www.philippineairlines.com and www.cebupacificair.com flies directly to tagbilaran, Bohol. Here is the group I went diving with late last year www.phildivers.com, that is if you haven't made any arragements yet. They can pick you up at the airport (Tagbilaran) and transport you to the hotel.

The last time I was in Manila I stayed at the Heritage Hotel, about 10 minutes from the airport. It's billed as a five star hotel, but I would say it's more of an aging four star. If you book through www.asiahotels.com, prices are $70 / night including tax and service charges. I'm heading back to Manila at the end of this week and am going to try the Copacabana Apartment Hotel instead. It's a three star hotel next to the Heritage and costs $36 / night if booked through the same website. My flight gets in to Manila at 11:50 pm on Saturday and my flight to Coron leaves at 10:10 am the next day, so I thought I'd save a bit of money since I just need a bed to sleep in for a few hours. I'll let you know how they compare.

Taxis from the airport to the hotels above are less than $10.

Hey Manhattandiver,

How was the Copacabana hotel? I'm also arriving in Manila late and flying out early the next day.

Thanks!

Also, where did you find the $36 rate? I checked that website, but couldn't find that hotel listed. When I called them they told me $49 for the studio room.
