I have a few friends who have done it. They are professional photographers, I watched the slide show and I was not impressed. Especially after they explained the damage to ALL of their dive gear, photo gear, and boat. The water is so corrosive that all O rings needed replacing in every piece of equiptment. Or so I was told.

About the photos shown above titled "Actual Pics"... the top-side photo was most likely shot from land since the photo is sharp. This is easily attained if you hike in from Kalapana side. (been there a lot). The underwater shot is an exceptionally rare chance photo with extensive photoshop work.
