orion612004, Fencingfish and my Son did an after work dusk dive at Lanes Cove. It was my son's 2nd dive since getting his open water. We arrived as approaching high tide so it was an easy entry/exit. The vis was great in the shallows near the entry (30 fsw) and about 20 feet out further.

In at 7:12 out at 7:56 (44 min BT)
Max depth 40 fsw
Temp at depth 48

We headed north towards the pink granite formations and had planned to heard towards the wall and follow it back towards entry point but decided to keep it shallow and just tour the cool rock formations. We saw Sculpin, Sea Raven and came across a HUGE Torpedo Ray on the way back. I had told my son about seeing them there before but didn't expect to come across one. (his second dive)

So for Son #1, he has Folly and Lanes down. Need to turn him onto OGB and Nubble next!

Thanks for the enjoyable dive report, especially the part about the nice sighting of a torpedo ray for the newbie! Makes it even more exciting somehow! :)
