Yestarday, Fencingfish and I dove Lanes Cove. Dave at the CAD advised against Old Garden as vis wasn't the best in AM and suggested Folly. Suggested Lanes as so much easier to park.

We went in just after low tide (low tide was at 10:5-00). There were other divers there lobstering and on surface interval as we went in. Unfortunately, the vis at Lanes wasn't good eather. (5 to 10 feet) The vis improved to 10 to 15 feet as we approached the "mini wall"

The 1st dive, we just ventured to the top of the wall and followed it to the right. 55 min bottom time, 41 fsw max. The temp at surface at was 50 degrees and at depth was 48 degrees though it felt much colder. Saw some decent sized bugs and I saw a Striped bass tried to point out to my buddy who couldn't see due to the vis.

We warmed up topside, changed tanks and repeated again. For the 2nd dive, had a shorter 40 min bottom time. We had a 49 fsw max as we ventured a bit down the mini-wall. As it was our 2nd dive, we were getting cold so slowly headed back trying to spot some fish and critters.

No problems with the locals. It was reassuring the other divers in the water had some family members topside so they were more than happy to look after my car.

Glad got out. It was a beautiful day and good company. I always enjoy turning on other to new sites as many folks have done to me withn I first started to dive Cape Ann.
