with some Kona winds and low surf earlier this week..
'dove Lanai Lookout with some buds from Dive Oahu..

saw a couple White Tips right under the entry point at Lanai Lookout..
this one was hefty!

btw.. 'anyone know what these are.. or what produced them?

looks like some sort of large egg cluster.. bigger than your hand..
it was under a ledge in the exit swim-thru..

Almost certainly a nudibranch egg cluster. Unusual blanched color tho'; usually reddish hue.

You seem to do Lanai Lookout a lot. Over 30yrs, I've had the big hairy ones to jump in only two or three times. That's on top of not wanting to chance the long drive from home, only to get skunked by rough conditions. Now days, there's no way I'm going to hump gear down the road, over the guardrail, and through the tunnel; not to mention getting back to the parking lot from the exit.
