Hey all,

Looking into the future for August and considering all the dives we might do.... We've done many of the 'main' sites over the years with various ops, and are considering options for this summer.

We've done three trips with Lahaina Divers to Lanai, as well as Molokai and saw hammerheads. We've done Molokini many times front and back with ProDiver and have shore and scootered down south with Shaka and Scubahawk.

It seems that Lahaina Divers is offering two things we haven't done 1) Lanai Drift, and 2) Lanai Night (if the moon is full??).

Has anyone done either one of these? Specifically, is the Thursday drift dive worth the extra time on the boat? We snorkeled shark fin a few years ago with one of the zodiac adventure boats and liked the area, but 1.5 hours on the LD boat to dive something that isn't a lot different than the Cathedrals area sites doesn't sound like fun.

Thoughts???

I have done the Lanai Drift dives and really enjoyed them. You get to dive the other side of Lanai. It was worth the extra time on the boat for me. There aren't any lava tubes like the Cathedrals on the drift dives. Barge harbor was my favorite area. The dives are deeper. I got to see a school of Hawaiian Longfin Antheus.
Hope that helps.
