Usually great. We were there in late july and it was about 25-30. Last year in Late Aug it was 20+. Air temp 80* water temp at 50' - 59* Wear your 7mm and hood and gloves.....Love Wazee!!!

Thanks ChedddarChick!
Sounds real good. My local favorites are suffering from extended drought.
Not long ago, I walked where, I use to dive. My other spots are turning green.
This will be my first trip to Wisconsin, any suggestions on places to see while close to Wazee. Once again, Thank You!

There is a Super 8 and a Holiday Inn Express, both conveniently located. There is a campground near the highway, and a campground near Lake Arbutus. The campsites might only be seasonal camping, so check before you go.

Right off the highway is an oasis with a gas station, Denny's, Taco Johns, and Subway. In town there are a few other places to eat near the Flying J. There is also a super Walmart towards town.

In town, Molly's is the place to eat- the prime rib special is pretty good and they serve some of the local brews.

Just out of town, the Majestic Pines casino has fun for the whole family (over 21 only!) and buffet (I don't think it closes).

To the south, there is the Wisconsin Dells- the waterpark capital of the world. I think it's about 1.5 hours away.

There are also ATV trails, so if you have a dirt bike or an ATV, you can zip around the trails and inhale dirt and bugs.

For airfills, nitrox, trimix, argon, paintball fills, and skateboards, I stop at Wazee Sports Center.

Also, if you are planning on camping, don't bring any firewood since they have trouble with invasive species. Both the campgrounds that I've been to have firewood available onsite.

I was just there last weekend. :D

ohh- the vis- I think the most noticeable thermocline was around 40'- above that, the vis wasn't great- maybe 5'-10', depending on the depth. Below that, the vis opened up to maybe 20' but it was dark and freezing cold- I want to say 40f, but it might have been 45f.

Tony is one of these invasive species. :D
Well we in WI know that.......All summer long usually, then the minute the snow starts a whole different species shows up:D

Hey Do it easy, I think I remember seeing ya there at the dive shop you had a buddy and I think you guys were using doubles and went down to 170 or so. We you guys driving the little Black S10??
I was there with a buddy and my wife and his Girlfriend. We were driving the Light Blue Expedition.

From what I remember of the therm we had gotten down to 71 feet on the east side of the lake and we had 46 F. And after the storm blew thu we went to the east side wall went down to 45 max and it was 50F. Nice to see ya on the Board.
