Our local dive club, Welcome to the Greater Omaha Scuba Club is considering a tent camping trip to Lake Wazee this year. After reading about the camping available at Lake Wazee it appears they only have primitive facilities. Can anyone recommend a camping area close to Lake Wazee that has more modern facilities, showers, etc? Thank you in advance!

This place has been highly recommended to me. Parkland Village Campground~ Maps & Directions
It is just behind the Best Western and has everything you want. The Best Western has a on site Bar/ resturant by the way. I have camped at East Lake Arbutas and that's a pretty nice place. A little farther off the beaten path though. The campsites at Wazee are Rustic, that's for sure and I'm pretty sure it's first come first serve. As you cannot make a reservation, if you come in Summer that can be problematic. The park is nice. Expect about 20 -30 foot viz unless your going deep. Then it seems to improve.

Thanks for the info, I will check this place out.

Parkland Village is nice. I have stayed there. The bathrooms and showers were very nice for a campground. There are a lot of people that camp there to ride their atvs on the area trails, so it can be a little noisy (atv noise) at times. I think that will be the case at any campground in the area, though.

I would check with the Black River Falls chamber of commerce or possibly the Wisconsin DNR. There are a lot of private and public campgrounds in the area.
