This sounds like good fun. Can you tell me an approximate schedule of events? I am starting a new job that week so I am not sure that we would be able to get up at any sensible time on Friday evening.

Ok then we'll plan on allowing plenty of time for you to drive up on Saturday morning then. what time do you think you might be able to get there? does 8 or 9 am sound reasonable? We can talk more later, are you going to be diving coral street tomorrow?

8 or 9 sounds good - probably 9 moreso than 8 though. Hopefully other people will get interested in this as it sounds like a great class.

Hi folks,

I'm tentatively interested but I might only end up being there for one of the days - it depends on my schedule. What are the water temps like in June? I dive Monterey in a 7 full with 7 vest - will I freeze my butt off in Tahoe in that setup or will I be OK for a dive or two?

Last weekend a last minute change of plans found us joining Sacaquaman and divnbuddy for a quick trip to lake tahoe instead of Monterey (damn gas prices!). Unfortunately it sounds like we missed a good weekend at Coral street.

We headed straight to the boat launch with plans to dive Rubicon wall first then visit the sailboat on the way back. The water was like glass. the mountains still have snow on them making it a very pretty site. We entered at Rubicon wall and found the water to be 46 degrees, Kent and I in drysuits but Heather in her 7mil with vest. We headed south along the wall, stopping to make sure everyones bouyancy was undercontrol before leaving the step and exploring the wall. The water was extreemly clear I kept looking up trying to determine vis. I stopped after 80 feet. we continued to 110 feet before stepping our way back up 20 feet at time. After returning to the boat we agreed that we would rather head back for lunch than hit the sailboat so we made our way back to northshore and stopped at Sanchos for mexican food and beer.

Sunday breakfast at the old post office, they had a nice surprise for Carrie when the waiter delivered a rose to her for mothersday. Then off the try a new site for us, Stateline wall. A short boat ride over to a spot just behind the Cal-Neva casino, we anchored in 25 feet on a sandy bottom just west of the drop off. Heading east amongst collections of boulders a short swim to the drop off. This site is a bit more gradual than Rubicon. HUGE boulders and tree length logs. Keep your eye on your computer, before you know it your at 99 feet and surprise! it looks like 40 feet. Gin clear water, lots of nooks and crannies to explore. Kent handed a crawfish off to Heather to play with. Poor guy must have been freezing because he didn't even try to get away.

On the way back I turn and look to see a giant boulder blocking my path must have been 20 feet tall. I like this site, definately plan to return here in July!

Great photos and report. Did you mean July or June? We're going June - rrrriiiggggghhhhttt?? Anyone else coming along? Perhaps we should move this into the threads to increase visibility of the thread.

You are more than welcome to go whenever you feel like it - I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't spacey and show up a month too soon. :D
