Scuba diver rescued from Lake Ontario near Burlington Skyway

Emergency responders rushed to the scene today as a scuba diving incident took place this afternoon

Burlington Fire Department and Halton Regional Police marine unit rescued a scuba diver from Lake Ontario, around 3:30 p.m. today.

The victim was near the Canada Centre for Inland Waters research facility, located under the Burlington Skyway Bridge.

The scuba drowning incident saw police locate a man near the lift bridge/canal. They were able to extricate the patient, who appeared to have a leg stuck in the ladder.

He was taken to Joseph Brant Hospital.
