Dove Lake of the woods just north of Hope on Hwy 1 today.
The first pull off (rest area) is very nice with picnic tables, toilets and a short walk/entry at the southern end of the parking lot.
Clear water on the surface gave me high hopes but the vis diminished to maybe 5'-10' at depth (44' max/46*F.). Once past the littoral zone there was the usual sterile bottom of jellolike settled silt. No sign of trout but many sculpins and large crayfish. I found a pair of old boots on the bottom and wondered where the owner might be. I have also decided that I really need a camera as the best I can do here is this (bathymetric image from sharphooks.com). Live vicariously by following the dots to replicate my dive:
