Lake Kincaid conditions

Has anyone ever dove Lake Kincaid just outside of Murphysboro Ill. Was there today and it looked kind of clear from the dam area by the spillway and it looked kind of clear,but as we all know looks can be deceiving especially by the shore. Case in point Lake of the Ozarks. Any info would be helpful.

Hi Greg,

I haven't yet dived Kincaid, but I have made many local inquiries. Rumor has it that the viz is decent near the dam, but I have yet to speak to a diver who has done it.

Why haven't I tried it yet? The boat rentals are expensive, there are no air fills available anywhere near, and there are no good spots I located for doing shore dives. In the past, when I finally have tried a lake this close to home with this set of facts, I have always been very disappointed.

So, if you have a boat and want a partner to try it out, I'm there dude.
