I have been looking at Lake Geode in Southeast Iowa as a diving location. The State DNR map shows Lake Geode to have a deep depth of 50'. I made contact with the Park Ranger and that person has indicated no knowledge of anything interesting in the lake to look at other than an old county bridge and highway. But the ranger was not for sure of it's location. Are there any Iowa divers who have been in Lake Geode, and if so is it worth the dive? I am about 2.5 hours from the location, and wondering if anyone has been there. I remember it to be a relatively clean lake and would enjoy a solo dive into this lake just to look around. If noone has been in the lake maybe I will explore the lake a bit and report back to anyone in the area that may want to know about it.
