After searching and searching, it appears these are the only places I can find that are cheap and/or free for entry. I'm on a strict budget while my husband's in Memphis for training, so free is good!! I've got a friend in Nashville that I can stay with if I want to spend two days diving, so that puts me a lot closer to Lake Cumberland and Dale Hollow Lake. Plus there's nothing interesting to do or see anywhere near Memphis.

I'll be available the 18th through the 22nd if anyone wants to meet up at either of those places, I need someone to dive with. :)

Also, any recommendations of local places to get air fills/tank rentals? Tank rentals that include a fill are the best... Nitrox preferred but not necessary. I do not own my own tanks so that will be something I have to rent unless someone wants to bring me extras to borrow!

I know there is a dive shop on the TN side of Lake Cumberland. I was actually just down there from Louisville KY yesterday and the day before, and it was going to be an hour and a half drive to get to the dive shop. Luckily we brought some tanks and stuff so we just didn't dive too much. But if you're on the TN side then you shouldn't have a problem with it, i can't remember the name of it or the road it was on though unfortunately :-(.

If you're on the Kentucky side of Lake Cumberland, there is a dive shop in Somerset. Divers Den is open seven days a week in the summer time. Mon-Sat. 10-7 and Sun.1-5. Tank fills are $5.00. Tank rentals are $9.00 for the first day and $5.00 for each additional day you need the tank. Divers are in the water almost everyday in either Lake Cumberland or Laurel Lake it seems. I hope this helps.

No problem roadkills, There has been a dive center in Somerset for over 20 years. Actually, with the indoor pool included it is around 10,000 sq. ft. Divers from the surronding areas will be diving at the spillway at Laurel Lake this coming Sat. and Sunday. Any and all is welcome to join in on the dives.
