This may be old news here, but I just heard this past weekend that LCD has closed their doors permanently.

That's too bad - I dove with them the last two summers and really liked alot of the folks affiliated with them.

I guess Gloria just runs the bakery now. :(

In MY humble opinion - they deserved it. My last dive with them was risky at best - to my life - by dropping us onto a boat with a HEAVY current. 10to 20 lb weight placed for safety stops - under boat - was at close to a 20 to 30 degree angle to the surface (i.e. 60 degrees off where it should be) with the current . Divers at a 90 degree angle with the anchor/drop line, also due to current. At boat, all divers hanging onto opening of boat in a group of about 10 for fear of being swept away. People looked like a bunch of remoras hanging onto the boat. I'm pretty strong with a kick and it took four strong kicks to go about 4 feet against current, so couldn't explore boat. We then decided that dive was not worth it and aborted and went back up line. Dive group hanging onto boat was still there. When I complained about diving conditions, they suggested that I wasn't comfortable with deep dives??? Decided on that day never to go with them again. Also heard tales from other divers about lack of courtesy, boats packed so tightly that divers were finishing their dive before others got into the water, etc. Not really surprised on this end...

The locals won't miss them very much.
