I am planning a dive trip mid December to Baja with the objective to sea big stuff, sharks, mantas, sea lions ... but specially to dive with the whale shark!!!!
What do you recommend for this period : La Paz region or Cabo São Lucas region ?
Where are the better conditions and where can I spot with higher probability the whale sharks ?

I have not yet been to either (Cabo San Lucas?) but according to one dive op in El Mar de Cortez you are likely to see whale sharks near La Paz in the winter and spring. They also mention blue whales in the winter too. No mention of Los Cabos, but from what I've read most of the premium dives from there are on a boat to the La Paz area, but some say the diving is good around Los Cabos too. I'll be a little further North of La Paz in early December. :)

I hear there is lots of big stuff in El Mar de Cortez and I'm looking forward to swimming with sea lions, and also other large crittters. I may have to take a boat to get to the whale sharks.

My last trip to Baja was based in Cabo Pulmo and took place March 2018.
I saw bull sharks. Plenty lots! Actually, I seem to see them each time I head down there in November too.
Guitar fish, rays, and the local giant bait ball of jacks. Also whales on the surface cruising south!

Last November mobulas were present. Those were so cool! Saw them below while checking out bull sharks. But then the sharks left to go chase the rays.

Up in La Paz is where the whale sharks are. Or so I hear. Never gone up there. Sometime I hope to. However I believe those aren't scuba trips but snorkel ones. They hang out in parks where everything is protected.
