My hubby and I are headed to La Jolla to dive in the cove and shores this weekend. This will be our first beach entry. All the prior ocean dives have been off a boat. Anyone diving La Jolla this weekend????? We would love company!

Go early on Sunday if you expect to find parking at the Cove. ;) If there is none, drop gear at the turn-around while one of you drives up into LaJolla to find a spot. There's a parking garage on Prospect downtown at the UBS bank building - at one time the stairs to the side of it led right down into the Cove entrance - IDK if they still do - haven't been there in a while. Once you climb up the hill on Girard past the park, you'll have to double back in La Jolla to get on Prospect - right there it's lower than it looks and only goes south.

This was probably shot later in the day. Those few spaces before the Cove and then along the park are it.

Open this in a new window and zoom to see the details.

La Jolla Cove is a beautiful dive site and snorkeling spot. Like diversteve mentioned, you'll want to arrive early if you want to find a spot near the cove, e.g. My dive partner and I showed up at 7:45AM on a Sunday in Feb and found a spot, but at 8:00 it looked like all the spots were full.

Here is a short clip of what the cove and beach looked like during our SI: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbDKilyNxxY
