L&M Video Filter Question

I have a Light and Motion Mako housing for my Sony PC100. The flip up amber filter has a couple of scratches in it so I want to replace it. I called L&M today and they want $100 for the darn little plastic thing.... you can get an B&W filter for $30-50 that is high quality Schott glass. Has anyone here come up with a solution to replace that little jewel?
