hi,
just wanted to mention my very positive experience with UD. I bought a new Faber HP 100 tank last week and went to UD to get a fill. The tank came with the valve on and some air in it. The fellow at UD offered a free VIP despite the fact that the tank came with a VIP sticker. Apparently, as I was told, quite a few tanks purchased online as brand new were rusted on the inside, so the dive shop person wanted to check for myown benefits. Turned out that the tank was fine but i was very happy with the diveshop attitude.

Good post: You have a very good LDS. They have the right attitude. They will get more business from you, and others, with this kind and very professional approach.

I have known Jim and Margaret at United Divers for more than 20 years. They and their staff are a shining example of the MANY intangibles that can ONLY be provided by a professional, knowledgable, LDS staff who have the ability to know both the divers they service and the local diving environment. My day job is in a profession where folks are paid by the hour to answer questions, look out for their clients backside and anticipate their needs. We charge lots more per hour than the $ difference between paying X and X+1/X for the same piece of equipment - and at the end of the day we often don't provide you with any tangible "equipment." I understand that personal finances are just that - personal. But I hope that with continued examples like the local service and personalizedattention provided by United DIvers and others, patronage of our LDS will be the "rule" rather than the "exception"!
