Any tips or stories to share? We are headed there in July for 4 nights. I've already tried to search for specific info on this resort but "Komodo Resort" just pulls up anything with those words anywhere.

- Is Visa On Arrival (VOA) available at the Labua Bajo airport? We are flying in from Singapore
- How long does the boat ride take to the island? Their website says 1:40 but I've seen posts where people claimed it was 30-45 minutes
- Do you need to bring a lot of snacks/drinks/alcohol from LBJ to the resort? I see they have a beach bar but no descriptions

And yes, I emailed the resort a lot of questions and the ones above were not answered.

Headed there in June. Will post info in this forum about the trip. Can’t find any record of VOA at LBJ airport, but I guess the international flights just started recently. I would check with your airline, and see if the online eVisa Indonesian Immigration website offers ability to do it before arrival.

Good luck.🍀

The resort just replied to me and verified VOA is now available at LBJ airport.

They also just verified that that boat ride is normally 40 minutes, not 1:40 like their website says.

If you can just get the electronic visa in advance as @Johncn recommended. It used to be pretty buggy but last time I think it took 10 minutes to fill out and not long at all for the response. Reduces the risk of getting stuck in a line at airport . Not familiar with LBJ airport but in Jakarta the line wasn’t too bad generally but think one time it took 30 or 40 minutes (which after traveling for 30+ hours seems like a really long time ).

Just adding a link to a new trip report for this resort posted today by one of my fellow Floridians so that people searching for info in the future will be able to locate it easily:

Written for Bali but applies to labuan bajo. Obviously you can skip the Bali tourist levy.

Summary:
Electronic Visa
Customs declaration
Health declaration
Advice declarations can only be done 2 or 3 days before entry.

I took a domestic flight from Jakarta to labuan bajo. There was no passport control when arriving in labuan bajo. Straight from plane to luggage carousel.

Maybe international flights land in a section of the airport where you must cross passport control before being able to exit the airport?

Send them $10, the guide is very useful.

Just returned from a week on Komodo Resort....nice place! Say hello to ELLEN waitress!

Boat ride is 40 minutes.
Food is soso, but ok
Rooms are nice and the AC works well....you'll need ot!
The resort reef is awesome.
Must dive Manta Point!
There is a full bar..

Buy Visa online and BREEZE right through immigrations and customs! Took us 10 minutes from plane to parking lot.

Enjoy.

We just came back from a 2 week vacation at Komodo resort. You can find our trip report here: Review - Komodo Resort: two weeks scuba diving

Your questions regarding visa and boat were already answered by others. Regarding snacks etc:
- water is free. You get a metal bottle that you can also keep afterwards and let them fill it whenever you like. Also two large glass bottles of water are provided in the room and refilled twice a day. Also during meals, water is free from dispensers.
- drinks: there is a minibar fridge in the rooms with some cans of coke, beer and the like. Also, there is a bar where you can buy drinks, cocktails, shots etc whenever you like (with or without alcohol)
So don't bring drinks etc, not really necessary.

- snacks: there are SOME snacks provided in the minibar (Pringles, salty cookies and kind of protein bar). Also, on the dive boat, cookies & fruit are provided during surface interval.
- however, we bought some packs of cookies at LBJ airport and didn't regret. Because this type of thing (chocolate cookies etc) isn't really available in the resort, so that's something that is worth bringing

HTH

P.s. we though the food WAY better than "so so", we found it excellent. but that is of course everybody's personal taste 😊

Just want to add here that the airport refuses to honor the APEC Card. myself and 2 other people on arrival got into a heated debate with airport staff and immigration. They refused to accept APEC card stating its inly accepeted in Jakarta and Bali which is complete BS. Anyway they forced all of use to line up and pay for a Visa even though we have been pre-approved for visas in Indonesia. So just a heads up.
