Double Fisherman's knot

I use the fisherman's knot and don't double it. It is less bulky that way and as long as the bungee is pulled reasonably tight, it holds well. I also always use two independent bungee straps so if one fails, the gear is not lost.

I use the same knot on cave line to connect snap links. I again use two independent loops, pull the knots tight, and burn the ends fairly fairly close.

I also use it to bungee a necklaced octo. This is with single bungee of course and the knots must be left a little loose so they can slide over the mouthpiece. It has come undone once. But that is only a minor problem with a piece of gear that has another attachment like a hose.

I use three small zip ties, cinched very tight, to bind the two ends of bungees parallel to each other, with about an inch of overlap. Assuming that you talking about using it on a DSS wrist mount boot, It's much more compact than any knot I could tie on a bungee and fits nicely into the little reservoir area.

SK7 Compass and dive computer mounts from DSS.

On my DSS SK-7 mount. I used the 5/32" bungee and tied simple overhand knots in each end, pulled them tight, and trimmed and burned the ends. The knot tucks nicely into the groove provided. Start with the loop a little large and adjust it down as needed. If you want to made sure it can't come undone, add a drop of glue to the knot. Aquaseal or neoprene cement will not be effected by water.
