A quick question, feel free to give a long answer that includes the reasoning behind it. What is the Dir take on knives, how a diver should attach them, & where a diver should attach them.

Small knife on waist strap. Knife pouch is made out of harness webbing. It's very unobtrusive and I barely notice it anymore.

Knife is a blunt tip and can be used for light prying, and is serated on one side with regular blade on the other. Works well for cutting through a variety of things.

EMT shears secured in left thigh pocket on drysuit. They are always there and easy to get to.

in a pouch to the left of your belt buckle (Halcyon harness)

i only carry EMT shears. but you can put a small knife there also

Bob3:
Keep in mind that while it is fun making your own gear out of things like broken off steak knives, some blades like that will give lousy performance if you try to saw through those 3/8" poly trap lines.

Alright I'll bite... why are you getting tangled up in a 3/8" thick rope?

I've noticed the replies "waist strap" & "harness strap". Do they both mean "waist strap", or is this a personal preference issue? Cave Diver, it sounds like the knife I just bought on Friday. Not to diverge to far from the original subject, but what would a good source be for glue on pockets? My BP/W arrives next week (I hope), so my jacket BC pockets will be no longer.

Waist strap, to the left of the buckle is the proper placement.
