I'm shamelessly cross-posting this here, now that this is less than two weeks away.
The project description, from their website at EcoDive Bonaire 2010
===========================
On Monday the 27th december 2010 Leo Hoogenboom and Felix Faassen will raise money for STINAPA and Sea Turtle Conservation by diving around Klein Bonaire in one single dive. The dive is more than 10 KM (6.8 miles) in length and will take the divers 12-16 hours to complete. During the dive the team will be supported by a surface support team.
This way they would like to raise awareness for the conservation of Bonaires nature and animals so that people of Bonaire and abroad can continue enjoy this unique eco system now and in the future. The event is made possible by Captain Dons Habitat, Bonaire.

Gear & Technology
To be able to stay underwater for over 12 hours, each diver will use at least eight 12l/80cf cylinders. They will use a max depth of 12m/40ft to keep their decompression obligation to a minimum.
During the second half of their dive they will gradually ascent to shallower depths, to include necessary decompression obligation in the swim, rather than stopping on a single spot.
Towards the end of the dive high nitrox mixes and/or pure oxygen will be used to accelerate decompression. Because of the long distance that the divers will need to travel, optimizing hydrodynamics becomes an even greater issue than in most underwater activities. A sidemounted configuration will lower the amount of drag and will give more flexibility and comfort. Switching cylinders with the help of support divers will also be easier using this setup.
Hydration is a very important issue in any underwater activity and because of this the divers will carry a constant supply of fresh water on their back, which will be changed when needed with the help of support divers.
Nutrients supply will be a combination between gel packs that can be consumed underwater, together with solid food that the divers will be able to consume with the help of a portable, custom made dive bell, which will allow the divers to take shorts breaks and breath at depth without the use of a regulator.

I had previously posted Leo's mail about this in http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/go...tion-klein-bonaire-circumnavigation-dive.html
I thought I'd take one more opportunity to bring it to the attention of those who follow this ABC forum. A non-trivial diving challenge for a worthy cause, with an opportunity to watch it close up if you're lucky enough to be in Bonaire at that time, and/or support it via donations.
This page on Capt. Don's site discusses observation/participation possibilities:
