The waves were coming into Redondo Beach in rapid sets this morning so we went back to bed. At 10:00 friends told us they we going out so we looked at the live cameras and decided it looked a little better. We were wrong.

The winds made it difficult to swim at the surface. Underwater the sand was being stirred up at 65 feet. I stuck it out for one dive and raced back home.

I LOVE your photos, that wobbly abalone is awesome! Is the Distaplia lighting up/ fluorescing?

I'm always amazed how you get such incredibly great images in such awful conditions. I went to Casino Point yesterday and the visibility was terrible

My lens is only a few inches away from the subjects. Less dirty water equals better photos. There is no way I could shoot wide angle for the past month.
