Good day,

Looking for Kingston dive suggestions, boat or shore, 22-24 Oct. I have already done the Brule Road Quarry (solo) and won't be doing the Stacked Hulls as a solo due to depth, distance, boat traffic, etc.. Now if anyone wants to buddy up for Stacked Hulls...

I will be in Kingston in October. I'd haul out my dive gear if I could get some dives in. I can dive Friday 22 Oct (evening) as well as the weekend, 23 and 23 Oct (all day). I am used to diving fresh water lakes, so poor vis and not much to see is fine by me.

From what I hear there are few (or no) charters heading out to wrecks that late in the season.

I dive singles and have a drysuit. I'd need to rent tanks and lead. I am not trained in wreck penetration but I do have a cavern cert if anyone wants to do line drills :) .

Thanks!

I would gladly buddy up if I was closer. I am surprised to hear that charters do not run that late in the season. October is not late in the season. Is this something you were told by a dive shop (or multiple shops)?

I was told that by one charter operator. So as not to misrepresent them, I believe that they said that THEY had no charters going out that weekend as it is late in the season and they aren't going to take out only one person (I didn't offer to charter the entire boat). If a charter shapes up they will contact me. They were thinking of hauling the boat out of the water around late Oct.

Be careful what you say. I plan to be in Guelph in November and will likely try to get out to Tobermory. Will I need to chop a hole through the ice?

I believe them....I am just surprised. I would think you would be able to find a couple charters to take you out in Oct.....

Well, I am not far from Guelph so definitely let me know when you are out. If you are OK with shore diving and enjoy diving even if there is not a million things tos do or see, then we could save 2 hours and dive in Wiarton. It is very comfortable, convenient and a great site IMO. Give me a bit of notice when you come as I did just have a son and I want to make sure my fiance has help when I am out. But I will definitely try to get you out diving.
