Vince,

Thanks. That is great news for my ears. That is very similar to what we are pushing for here in Curacao. Unfortunately our government moves at a snails pace compared to Bonaire.

Mike, I'm not a big fan of the ELF either, rather the opposite, but I gotta give kudos to Bonaire for what they are doing and how fast they started doing it. I can also assure you it is working, we are getting double or triple the numbers on our catches here than they are reporting in Bonaire.

to add my limited knowledge to this--just returned from Bonaire and saw few lion fish. was there this past summer and saw many. don't know whats going on but something has changed. I don't go out of my way to look for them but note the ones i do spot. not saying the threat is over or anything like that as I am no expert on lion fish or diving for that matter. just an observation from a dive tourist.

We just returned and only saw three lionfish in our week of diving. Compare that to the three a day we saw last year in Cozumel. One of the advantages that Bonaire has is a reasonable max depth on most of it's walls of @ 140'. Compared to other islands that the wall doesn't end until over a 1000'. The lion fish just go deeper when hunted and continue to reproduce. In Bonaire, there is not place to hide for the most part.
