All,
I have mentioned that I bought a Kidde from Govliquidation last month.
It arrived and I have been working on it for the past 2 weeks. It is
in great shape and after checking it over and changing the oil, I
mounted it on my test stand and Hoop-to-do, before I could get the
bleed valve open it was pumping at 4000psi. Surprise!!! I have now
converted it to a 2 hp electric drive with quick change capability for
gas drive using the original motor which came with it. BTW the gas
engine started on the third pull after adding oil, gas and getting the
carburetor full of gas.
The conversion will allow for changing the compressor by removeing 4
nuts and one tubing connection and move the filter (2 hose clamps)
from the electric to the gas motor frame and re-bolt the compressor to
the engine and reconnect the filter to the compressor.

Look at the pictures and send me your comments. Pictures are located in Yahoo :
Compressor_ Team : compressors listed as Kidde gas/elec conversion.
I haven't posted pictures in scubaboard and If someone would advise me I'll post for all to see.

Thanks, I was able to upload the photos and create an album. I was pleased with the way this went together and it will make someone a good home and portable unit. Pumps about 2.3cfm and could be used to 3600 psi. I have about $1300 in it.
