Hellooooo! I need a buddy or 5!:D

I'm diving in Key Largo Friday, May 11th, want to get a good wreck or 2 in and wondering who else will be around.

I'd love to dive with someone who's good on air(I've done a 50 min dive on the Spiegel with an AL80). I'd like to avoid having to pay a DM to go with me like the keys like to have you do and want to avoid chancing it too much with an "insta buddy"....

So just hoping to find anyone who may already have plans to be diving that day...I haven't booked anything yet and was going to in the next couple days.

Let me know!

dl. :)

That's good to know..
I think I'm probably more concerned with depending on an insta-buddy rather than having to pay for someone who know's their way around :).

no-deco.. my total dive time was 48mins on my computer with a 30% mix.
from looking back at my dive graph it looks like we began our 20ft safety stop at about 43 mins into the dive.
it was a fantastic day -with no current, which i'm sure helped... in fact i remember doing my safety stop without having to hold onto the mooring line that time!

What was your max depth on the grove?

I did 115' total dive time of 35 min. today. I came up with 2000 psi (HP 133) avg. 58'. My NO2 loading was still in the green (barely).

But, I am interested in your depth with 30%. That will probably tell us why you were allowed to get 43 min before hitting 20'. I dove with Walter and he came up with air left over... We dove our "expected back on board" time with Cristal Clear. Who is allowing you to dive longer?

Hey guys-

I appreciate your interest in my dive profile and will be happy to share the details for you to analyze..either by PM or in another thread....

But I'm really here looking for a buddy to dive with rather than an anaylsis of my previous dives...

Just don't want my request to get lost in the chatter! :)
Thanks!
dl. :)

We're booked with Blue Water for the 10th, 11th & 12th .... so you might want to check and see how many they've got going out .......

50 min. on the Spiegel with an Al80? (It was a +50% overfill, right?... You found someone's deco bottle in a swim through, and was naughty?... You have gills?...)

P.S. You're a Master Diver, without Rescue? Didn't know you could do that...

(I've done a 50 min dive on the Spiegel with an AL80).

with an AL80 as deco bottle after sucking down double 130s?

actually, I know that some women have sick SAC rates.
doing some math, the following scenario could happen:
you hang around the deck between 90' and 100'
you're back on the boat with 500psi
that gives you 2500psi usable ~63cf of gas
you spend 30min at 90'-100' then do a very slow ascent of 20min to the surface.
30min at 95' (or 3.8ATA) and 20min at 45' (or 2.4ATA)
.4cf/min X 3.8ATA=1.52cf/min X 30min ~46cf of gas
.4cf/min X 2.4ATA=.96cf/min X 20min ~20cf of gas

so, you must have a .4 or better SAC rate, very impressive.

BTW, I just did a total runtime of 68min. 10min at 135', 30 min at 100' and 28min deco.
but I had double AL80s and a deco AL40

people.. this is not about my impressive sac rate. :D if i knew how to post my dive profile from that dive online, i would and you all can have at it. in another thread. any suggestions?

nor my master diver certification (no, naui does not require rescue for master diver, see http://www.nauiww.org/master_scuba_diver.php, but they do for dive master hence the reason i'm in the course right now.)

data thanks for the "evaluation" and faith that it could happen....

and kat - thanks for the heads up - i will check and see if they've got room!

heck - why don't you all just come dive with me on the 11th and see for yourselves??? :)

okay, after some serious PMs i have been enlightened as to what caused all these remarks and realize that i have been blessed with exceptional air consumption skills. yes, i've checked and my average SAC rate is around a .4 (i've even logged some dives with a .38/.36 and lower) i knew i was 'good' on air, i just had NO IDEA that this could be something that could have been construed as bragging, thus spurring all of these comments.

I was completely CLUELESS as to what people thought i was implying when i mentioned my total dive time on the spiegel. fortunately someone was nice enough to take the time to explain it to me. i thought it was normal...apparently its not.

so again, i'm just looking for a buddy, NOT in anyway trying to say i'm better than anyone. i was just trying to give an example for others to gauge my consumption with....

anyone wanna dive??? :D
