Heading to Key Largo Sept. 23 through 30. Anyone have any opinions what type weather conditions, water temp and sea conditions are typical that time of year? I plan on bringing a 3 mil and assume it will be plenty. I know there are no garantees on any weather and sea conditions. Just looking for input on what might be considered typical for that timeframe. Thanks

Hit or miss as to the seas but I dive with swimming shorts in Key Largo through October. Bring the 3mil just in case you decide to use it - maybe for a night dive.

That's my favorite time in Key Largo. The water is still warm, marine conditions are usually really good, vacationing families have all gone home and snowbirds have not shown up yet. Restaurants and bars aren't too crowded and traffic is manageable.

A 3MM should be just fine, temps should be in the low to mid 80's

Thanks for the response and advice.

September is a great time as the others have mentioned . Warm water , calm seas ,
kids have gone back to school , and less traffic . Plenty of room at the local restaurants
and bars and plenty of room on the dive boats . Have a great trip and enjoy yourself !
