I'm going to Key Largo for the first time. I've found eight dive operators on the internet. They all look good, but are all different. Some cattle boats, some six packs and everything in between. High prices and low prices. . .

Any information on Silent World Dive Charters??? They have nice looking boats for 12 pax and are cheap.

Horizon Divers Rocks!

The owners and staff are great. They take good care of their customers. I didn't feel cramped or rushed on their boat. When I left behind one of my fins they cheerfully mailed it back to me without making me feel like an idiot.

I have no complaints about any of the keys dive ops I've gone diving with, but Horizon Divers stands out, based on their customer service, and being just plain nice.

Thanks for your reply. I've looked a Horizon Divers and they do look like a nice outfit. I still want data on Silent World because they do 5 dive trips for $180. That's a really good price.

It sounds like all you want to hear is that Silent World is the best and cheapest dive operator in Key Largo. If they're the best then they'd be all over the net. They may be the cheapest and the phrase comes to mind "you get what you pay for". If you're really looking for a dive operator that will give you the type of diving you want then why don't you ask some pertinent questions like do they cram their boats? Do they go to the same sights every day? Do they have experienced crews? Are the boats clean and in good order? Are they safe? Too much? Sorry. Do they give you 5 trips for $180.? Sure. Are you going to be happy with them? If that's what you're looking for then go for it. Don't worry about all of the threads that have already been posted on dive operations in the Upper Keys. But by all means. Dive safe!

silent world is a good outfit. my favorite is divers city in tavernier. flexible dive profiles, 10 divers max, and are able to dive key largo sites and areas to the south. also have decent dive packages,,,,,,,,,,,

Thanks for the helpful advice on dive operators. It's a shame someone from Key Largo has nothing better to offer. I can't wait to get there if all the people in Key Largo have an attitude like yours!!!!!!!
:upset:

Thanks Reefman. That's the kind of feedback for which I was looking. I'll check out Divers City.

(p.s. My previous post was not intended for you.)

We were in Key Largo about 3-4 weeks ago, and went out a couple of times with Blue Water Divers. Brent and crew did an excellent job for us, and we were very pleased. The seas were rough for our dives, but the first day, it was only my wife and myself, the second day was our party and one more person. Very attentive, great service, highly recommended!

What's wrong with Silent World?

Hi South 4 Scuba,

I'll second the Divers City recommendation. They were great. I've never dove with Silent World. The price sounds really good (too good) so it's smart that you're asking about their rep. You never know, they may be cheap AND good.

By the way, don't let the "mad" posts get to you. I've noticed some people use this board to get out their personal frustrations that have nothing to do with the thread. Also, some people have reading and comprehension skill issues that keep them from truly understanding what they are reading. Don't let it get to you.
