Actually, in my case, you wouldnt believe how much more than the boat thier rackominiums wouldve been!! My boat is a 26ft cuddy offshore fisherman with twin yamaha outboards. I spend more on in/out storage in a 1 1/2 yrs than I gave for the whole boat in good running condition!!!! Couldnt imagine buying a 100k rack just to set it on!!!

I am also trying to find a good deal on a trailer for it. Seems that if its on a trailer these people will store it dirt cheap!!! Like 60bux a month or so.

I use to store my boat at Tavernier marina like Capt Gary suggested. No complaints and the staff were friendly, plus it is in a great location to the ocean(NO CANALS!!). I paid 208 a month(19ft boat) Air fills are convenient also

Yeah, they quoted me $370!!! Rock harbor is at $350 but not so sure where they are or what's what with them. Still planning on running down there in a week or two and check out a few of them. Just wish I could find a trailer for it, the storage is MUCH cheaper that way and then I wouldnt have to pay for transport down there and when I bring it home.

Why are you having a hard time finding a trailer? I don't know about now, but three years ago, I needed to purchase a trailer for a 26' Grady White, and there were several trailer retailers down there that I got quotes from. We ended up buying it from the company that used to own the big blue rack barn at MM103 by Sundowners. I think we paid $3K for the trailer, but it paid for itself in just a few months at rack storage rates.

Not having a hard time finding a trailer, just having a hard time finding a "deal" on a trailer for it. Everything I am seeing for this boat is in the 4-5k range. This boat is VERY WIDE. Since I am not made of money it's kinda hard for me to spend that much on a trailer. Very hard to spend that much when I didnt give much more than that for the boat itself!! I am seeing a few used trailers for much less but of course by the time I see the ad and call on them, they are sold. The problem with the trailer part for me is that my boat is HEAVY and has a 9'9" beam. Which puts it over the "wide load" limit. I am supposed to have a permit to trailer it. Dont think the cops would give me a hard time about it but who knows???

When I lived in the Keys, I regularly saw state troopers ticketing folks towing boats. Not saying it would happen to you, but...why take a chance?

Even at $4-$5K, you will recoup that very quickly over rack-n-stack fees. Consider it an investment in the future. Even if you have to finance it and pay interest, you will still get back the cost of it very rapidly over rack storage fees.

If I find a trailer for it, I am really only planning on towing it in and out of Key Largo once a yr each way. Hopefully I could avoid the staties for two trips a yr. Other than that I am hoping to find a place with a boat ramp to keep it. I agree, I would come out ahead eventually with the trailer and it would just increase the value of the boat. But, with X-mas and 3 kids b-days recently, new motorcycles, yada yada It's just hard to spend that much at one time. I dont really like financing toys so wouldnt really consider that for a trailer. Thinking I'll just go the rack route till I find a deal on a trailer for it.

How do you plan on getting it here with no trailer? I might be able to get you a trailer for "real cheap" once you are here with it. Well you always stay at Kawama's so you could leave it their. But well have to get together to get you a Kawama's tag so you can store it. That would be free storage.
You need a trailer my friend best place to look for one is go into boat yards and see what it their many times they are just parked with no boats for them and you can pick them up cheap real cheap. I have puchased many with just take them away and you tag them deal. A new tire, tags and I'm off with a nice trailer.
