I'm trying to locate as many Ky divers as possible. Please vote on the poll and post if and where you dive locally.

Here are the general boundaries(arbitrary choice by me for simplicity)

Eastern Ky--Anyone living East of I-75

Central Ky--Anyone living East of a line drawn from West Point(near Ft Knox) through Glasgow but West of I-75

Western Ky--Anyone living West of that West Point/Glasgow line but East of the Pennyrile Pkwy

Far Western Ky--Anyone living West of the Pennyrile Pkwy

I guess that puts me in Central. But not by very much, I-75 is only about 3 miles away.

Okaies, I gotta get up on my soapbox now.......
:box:

You do know that The TRUE West Ky is ONLY west of the Tennessee river right? That's right, Bowling Green is NOT in west Ky! Somebody just wanted to name their university Western when its really in Central KY! This is how many people that that live west of the TN river feel. In fact, history shows that we have tried to become our own state 3 times now. The last time was during the civil war when people from Murray organized a meeting with leaders from all of the counties west of the river to discuss becoming a seperate state from KY and joining the confederacy. The union army soon heard of it, and proceeded to burn half of downtown Murray.

ANYWAY......

Thanks for at least including us as seperate as "Far Western KY"
although by your definition, we get Cerulean right? :mouth:

Sorry for rambling on this way,,,,,
I'm not sure what all of this had to do with diving,,,,,,,,,

Hope to see yall soon!!!

Hi Mark,

I wondered if my definitions would set off a little soapbox session. As you know I lived in Calloway county for several years and have family living in Calloway county to this day. So I understand where you're coming from.

But the really cool thing is the history lesson you provided. I never knew about all that statehood business etc etc. Very interesting.

Also I know you know some other divers in that area--could you try to get them to respond to the poll or get them involved with the scubaboard?

Also could you post any known local diving sites in your area?

Looking forward to diving with you soon--even the Great Lakes(hint, hint)

Unfortunatly, all the divers I know around here are not computer literate. Not many of them even own a computer, much less have internet access.
Dive Sites-
I think you already know of them. Cerulean, Mermet, ect.
There are a few private quarries around, but its next to impossible (ie, gotta be related) to get permission to dive in them.
Great Lakes-
hmm,, Are you talking about a trip up north? Seems like I heard something about that. Sorry, but I've already used up my play money for this year on a trip to the keys with the wife in July. I try to get down there a few times a year, but I go cheap. But when the wife goes, I gotta splurge for a hotel and take her out for dinner ect. I dont understand why she doesnt want to go on this trip with three other guys, sleep on the boat, eat sandwiches outta the cooler, take no shower for a week ( The saltwater makes you smell better I tell ya!) ect, ect.

aaahhhhhh weellllllllll
