Ah geez, even with the p-valve, little Dale is getting you into trouble.

Story of my life Scott... Story of my life.

JFS,

At your house do you piss in the hallway beside your bathroom, or do you actually walk the 5 steps into the can? There are public washrooms that are provided ad K-G. I could understand your point if there were no facilities or they were locked or broken, or whatever. But there is a bathroom right there, and it is reasonably clean, well-lit and functional (this includes running-water sink as well!)

If yah gotta go you gotta GO! I DO IT IF I HAVE TO! My Ex GF would jump out of her car in the stupid lineups going towards abbotsford from Van and go on the side of the road. BIG DEAL! The Heirachy in Lions Bay really should grow up. We are human. Im not gonna piss in a $2000 drysuit! We probably would get complaints for drinking Tim Hortons over Starbucks there too!

DaleC; Thumbs up on the courage to comment. As I mentioned, I was not going to publically out anyone, but C'mon...public washrooms smell bad. Its their nature. Heck, Kelvin Grove smells bad, there is a raw sewage catchment there as well that is very unpleasant. However, I don't want the woman walking her dog that walked behind you while you were fiddling in the bushes, to have reason to complain about diver's in general.

I think all divers need to be sensitive to the residents that have to deal with not just one or two groups in a morning, but groups of divers all-day most weekends. We all need to pick-up our garbage; be polite, friendly and respectful and realize that we are playing in someone's front yard.

I know that when people come to my trailer-park and knock my '83 camaro off its blocks or dump beer-cans on my front dirt-patch, it really pisses me off. I'm certain Lions Bay is no different.

I bet you hang your clothes on a line to dry, dont you?

That just happens to be a GREEN option to replace the costly dryer and is used by many who are not in trailer parks. I agree with the rest of what you said though ;)

Rutger, I think you need to lighten up, Dale makes a public appology and sees the wrong of his ways and you won't let it DIE. Anyone who can stand up and admitt their wrong (and have a fair excuse on top of it) is OK in my book.

THANK YOU DALE for being the bigger man.......

It took more courage for Dale to send that PM than it would have for the OP to send a PM to Dale commenting in a civil manner that that behaviour should never be witnessed at that site (or any).

Dale definitely took the high road.

Great thread. Lots of meaningful back and forth conversation and sharing of ideas. I have followed the KG threads with interest as there are more than a few residents here in Victoria that take a dim view of divers. I like to think most people choose to respect the residents out of simple human nature if not preservation of access to the dive site, but we can all slip up once in a while. I myself have peed less than discreat locations but have now resolved myself to smarten up a bit. Henderson Point is a dive site here in victoria that is accessed by a small windy road with posted speed limits that some people disregard from time to time. This is but another great way to to fire up the local population and bring down their wrath. To those of you working hard to save the KG dive site I commend you on your efforts such as this thread to make us all a little more mindful and aware of how valuable and vunerable our dive sites are.

The problem resides in the fact that the place is inhabited by a bunch of old retired farts that have prostate problems and are jealous of others able to piss where and when they want to. :eyebrow:

Given your tone and the title of this thread, I am not surprised to see that you have an anger management problem and you live in a trailer park and you have a car on blocks.

You have any idea how unattractive it is to see a car on blocks in front of a trailer park?

I bet you hang your clothes on a line to dry, dont you?

Well, it is a trailer-park, after all, so it would make sense that my home is on wheels and my car is on blocks.

And yes, I do use a line for my unmentionables. That way I hang them on a rainy day, and they are washed and dried by the next time its sunny.

Considering that your location is New York, I don't expect that you are aware of the issues surrounding this dive-site and the sensitive history of the matter.

To everyone else:

This thread was to spark dialogue on the topic of my OP, which it has done.

I already (posted above) commended Dale for his comment and that part of the issue is dealt with. Done. Finito.

However, as long as people want to debate or disparage the relative merits of a) living in a trailer park, b) peeing in public at a public-use beach, c) my attitude or anything else contained in this thread, then lets dance.

I miss the point of your point, and the smiley indicates sarcasm? My point is to vent about a diver doing something ignorant in public, that effects the image of other divers.

I personally railed against Lions Bay when they made claims about people peeing publicly. I couldn't believe anyone would do that, especially when they make a public washroom available.Apparently I was mistaken, and there are those who don't seem to think its a problem.

Didn't you do the same by posting thread? That was my point. Being spot-on with my explanation of the incident was the by product of positive thinking. :)

I'm not smart enough to understand your meaning.
