Just had a request by email. I quote:

Er...we can't help.

Grilled stonefish anyone?

According to many sources, although Scorpionfish are capable of producing and discharging toxins, they are edible, and tasty as well, if you can get past their ugly appearance!

Most scorpion fish are very quite moving with a slow undulating motion. They have a high commercial value since they are edible, producing a tender and tasty meat.

Thank you Batfish for sharing this.

It reminds me of someone who boasted of taking crayfish somewhere in Australia - the point being that they were protected in that area. The technique, apparently, was to stuff them down the wet suit to conceal them from coastguards or whatever patrols.

Perhaps you should offer assistance to this customer and provide training in this technique when dealing with stonefish.

I'm torn between condoning this or frown upon it. Grouper meat is very tender and juicy, especially when steam. But we all could do away with colorful coral fish, let them be playing around near the gorgonians, don't disturb them.

Octopus is delicious too but I'd much rather watch than eat them.
