I can't help but accidentally dump air from my dry suit at the same time
I see this as a benefit. I want my valve on the verge of venting at all times, because then my suit buoyancy is consistent. When I change depth, I always give a little roll to sync the suit to that depth (even when descending and adding air). Give a consistent feel as well. Just dial in whatever degree of squeeze/feel you desire.
