OUC Shipwreck Directory Version 2.0 is now available on the Ontario Underwater Council's newly redesigned website; www.underwatercouncil.com.

The new version includes more wrecks/sites, more information, more links, more everything.......

You can register to be informed of new version releases to the directory. Also, new to v2.0 is the abiltiy to submit new wrecks/site locations, or add to existing sites.

Personally, I think it's bigger and better than v1.0 (but I'm biased). Take a look and let me know what you think!!

Paul,

I haven't looked at it yet because it requires Google Earth which I cannot load up here at work. And I haven't had time to do it at home yet.

Kev's First Mate:
Hey Ramblinpaul ~ I tried accessing the site, but all I got was this reply on a blank page, "Could not select database ouc_data_ouc_underwatercouncil_com".

Any ideas?

I just tried and it works fine for me (6:20pm EST).

1. Do you have Google Earth installed? If no, then you'll need to install it (it's a free download).
2. Are you using a MAC? It's apparently accessible with a MAC, but I haven't validated that yet.
3. Maybe a firewall issue, and if it's that then "Right Click Link" and "Save Target As..." to your desktop. Then launch from desktop by double clicking.

This link below should launch or allow you to download (by right clicking); http://www.underwatercouncil.com/downloads/ouc_shipwreck_directory_v2.0.kmz

I'll mention again the only way to launch is to have Google Earth installed so ensure you have it installed; http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html

Let me know how you make out.

I downloaded Google Earth and the Underwater Council link. However, when I tried to open the Underwater Council, it is telling me that it does not recognize the "kmz" extension.

Google Earth is the application which opens the .kmz files, so I'm thinking that maybe Google Earth was not successfully installed on your computer.

Try to open just the Google Earth application on your computer (not the OUC Shipwreck Directory), if you can't open it on it's own, than you haven't installed Google Earth on your computer. Go and attempt to install Google Earth again.

Let me know how you make out.

It worked good for me, too bad that water is too cold for me up there....

Nice job Paul
