Greetings all, I wanted to give some feedback on a new HOG32 wing I just recv'd.

I like it! It looks well made, plenty tough to withstand normal wear and tear. I think it will hold up well. Mounted it to a OMS BP with a IQ harness.

Only one thing I'm changing. The corrugated hose is too short for me. Its 12 or 12 1/2 inches long and the inflator mouthpiece lies abit too far up on my chest. I could reach it but it required me to wrench my neck and turn the mouthpiece 30 or 40 degrees to get a lip-lock on it. I'm used to it falling abit further down my chest. I've ordered a 16 inch hose to replace the 12 inch one. That should take care of that.

Otherwise, I look forward to diving with it.

Good Dives,
SeaFlea

If you're gonna try the shorter corrugated hose, try using a shorter inflator hose too. I know I'm always switching to shorter hoses on my wings.

I'm curious, why do you prefer a shorter length. I reason that I can operate the power inflate and dump buttons OK with a short length. Its just if the need to inflate manually occurs it will be more difficult to accomplish.

I prefer the shorter hoses too, the long ones tend to get away from you... Sure the short ones make it harder to orally inflate, but with a 12 inch you shouldn't be wrenching your neck too far... The hoses do tend to get a bit more stretchy a bit over time, and the brand new ones are really stiff. Had this problem on my Nomad, but it's getting a lot better now

Yes, the need to manually inflate might occur - which as you say, you can do with a little turn of the head. Now, contrast this with a hose that's somewhat easier to find, does not need to be raised too high to dump air and poses less of a drag or entanglement hazard close to the reef... well, then the choice is easy

The two posts above pretty much nail it, but to add one more advantage - if there's any future chance of diving with some sort of deco bottle or stage bottle slung off your left then it's nice not to have the inflator extend much beyond the d-ring.

You may decide it's not for you and that's just fine. Also, different physical builds may require different setups. I was only suggesting that, since you already have it, you should at least try it. You might find you like it - as many of us have.

HTH,

Hunter
