Just got my Dacor Falcon back inflate BCD from Divers Supply. I really like it.

I have yet to get it wet but I really like the design and the construction looks solid. The integrated weight system is a nice, secure (I don’t see how the pouch can ever accidentally fall out), and according to the specs can hold a ton of weight.

It’s going to take some getting use to since I’ve only ever used jacket style BC’s… but I think I’ll adapt quickly :)

Oh yea, the best part… it was $189 with the manufactures’ warranty. I just had to jump on it for that price. I guess Dacor is doing away with the Falcons since they are getting harder to find (most sites only have 1 or 2 sizes). Anyways, it’ll suit my needs well.

That's great GOAT. Let us know how it performs underwater. I was considering purchasing it as opposed to the Cressi-sub Aquapro5 which I have now.

Have heard though that all the Dacor's have this design flaw in that the carrying handle can somehow damage the backpack over a period of time??
Anyway nice purchase :D

well that flaw can't apply to the falcon since the carry handle is strapped to the back plate and not the bag. There are two pieces of plastic one inside and one outside that secure the bladder. From the pictures I've seen it looks like a Wing that instead of being secured by straps is secured by the two pieces of plastic being bolted together. And the carrying handle goes through both those pieces of plastic.

now I may be an idiot and not know what i'm talking about, but i don't see any way in the world the carry handle can damage the BC

I to bought a Falcon for the price (199.00). It is not a bad starter BCD. Simple and easy to take care of. I have about 20 dives on mine in the Puget Sound and it still looks like new. Also I am a big guy (230 pounds) and I have not had any problems loading it up with weights. The back support is great and I don't ever feel the 92 that I dive digging in. The pull down pocket is nice and easy to use. Steal D rings are nice as well. The only things I dont like is the small oral inflator area is hard to get my lips on for a seal in cold water. It just is a bit too small. If your looking for something to get you in the water and don't want a lot of extras then you would like this rig just fine.

As I dive more I plan to move to a more Tech style BC. No worries as my son has already offered to take the Falcon.
