Hopefully this steps up my dive footage game. I was using the standard housing with a Polar Pro filter before this. I've heard the dive housing is recommended for the sturdier latch and bigger lense and I've heard rave reviews for the Backscatter FLIP 3.1 from many sources. I really like the idea of having multiple depths covered without the need to load another task into my thought process.

Can anyone here attest to what I've said here? Anyone have input on these items? Thanks!

I keep the BS Flip filters on my Dive housing (also liked for its ruggedness and latch) all on an UW extendable pole as its own kit and just pop the GoPro Silver 3+ into its regular housing for other non-diving uses. Easy-Peezy.

I use both the housing and the lenses. Took the dive housing down to the sand on the San Francisco Maru (200 FSW) and it worked fine, however I just left it running, I don't know if I would push buttons on it at that depth.

I find I only use the orange filter, it really seems to work fine in every situation at any depth for video purposes.

I believe you are referring to the "dive" filter? I also picked up the green water filter since I'm in the midwest and will be doing some lake/quarry diving.

Yeah, that would be it. I use it in quarries too doesn't seem to make to much of a difference to me though...

Really? That's interesting given that the green filter is sort of a pink color iirc. I'm pretty stoked you can easily add things like macro lenses to the flip 3.1 as well.

Yeah, it's a nice set up. I am thinking about getting the dual camera system for filming in 3D next, that should be fun!

It does sound interesting but I always felt it would be difficult to share such media when the install rate of 3D capable displays is not very high.

I've been getting good results from the Backscatter flip system.
The magenta filter for green water makes color correction in post a bit less drastic.
The aim is to get a good accurate color coming through the lens of the camera so the auto white balance can do the rest and editing doesn't require too much (as too much can degrade the quality of the footage).
Anyone tried the Macro attachment?

No, but interested in the Macro...I can't really get good pictures out of mine though....wish there were some better aftermarket dive housing and lens combos... I Just use it for video for the most part.
