I just got my new Dive rite SS plate/rec wing, I used it on 2, 100ft ish dives and so far, LOVE it. Compared to a BCD, it's like your not wearing anything, but....
On my back rolls off the boat, my inflator hose, flipped over my shoulder on both dives, and I could not reach it, (drysuit, fairly thick undies) to get it back (dive buddy took care of it both times)
Does any one have any tricks to keep this from happening? maybe a short bungee loop near the shoulder?

Dan

Put a bungee on your shoulder strap and place the inflator hose under it. Make sure you put the bungee up far enough that you can use the inflator easily but it does not flop around.

I use a piece of 1/8" bungee (shock cord) held together with two zip ties (wire ties), and have it running through the top strap of my left chest D-ring, then run the inflator through the inflator hose, works great.

or cut about an inch or so out of a bike inner tube & thread your harness through it. then when you put the unit all together, put the inflator through the tube. i use bike inner tube to hold the waist strap ends so they don't flop around, too.

enjoy your new toys!

Is it a fair guess you got the 21 inch hose? I had one of those for a while and the way the rig set, most of the hose was behind me and I had like a very short piece to work with.

I went to the 27 inch hose and problem solved. Might give it a try.

Did you say you were using the DR Transplate harness? Doesn't that already come with velcro on one shoulder for this purpose?

That may be how a Halcyon looks....but not a DR TransPlate with a 21 inch hose. But , yes, a DR TransPlate does have the velcro keeper.

Its just a DR plate with hog style harness, not the transplate. I think the halcyon picture will work just fine. Thanks for the advice everyone!
