from our cruise vacation. I went for the opprtunity to dive in Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Wasn't expecting much from the cruise portion of the trip but ended up having a really good time while aboard ship. Plenty of classic French cuisine:)

The diving in Grand Cayman was cancelled for some unknown reason. I went on a snorkle excursion instead and was pretty much disappointed with that. Fortunately the stay in Grand Cayman was short.

The diving at Cozumel was fabulous!!!. We dove with Sand Dollar Sports off a boat called AquaDiver 1. The DM was a guy by the name of Jose. Excellent briefing on the way out to the starting point of our drift dive. Viz was 100 feet. Water temp 83*F. Depth was 80 feet. Having no real experience with currents I can't give an estimation of the flow. The marine life was abundant and fabulous!!! There was way too much seen for me to describe here. I will try to post some pictures when I get the film developed.

The second dive was also a drift dive. 40 feet with all other conditions being the same other than the marine life here---it seemed there was 3 times as much to see on this dive. Absolutely fabulous!!!

I thought I was going to get my first shark picture when Jose motioned me over to look at something. As I came over the reef I thought what he was pointing at was a shark(I was looking straight down at it) then I saw the gill cover move and realized it wasn't a shark. It was a black grouper about 5 feet in length. I managed to snap a broadside shot as it turned to my right. I hope that picture comes out.

Also saw the biggest lobster I have ever seen anywhere. Big enough to be dinner for several people if anyone would be brave enough to try and catch it!!

I'm thinking that a 4 day cruise back to Cozumel for another full day of diving (maybe even a night dive) is in order for next year:)

Sounds cool! I want to see pictures!

good to hear you had a good trip....

I want to see pics...and you had better damn well be in good trim

squared away. Pictures----well lets say I had better keep the day job. Unfortunately the the black grouper, and the monster truck sized lobster didn't take.

I'll try to post the pictures that did turn out OK.

Hey JBD,

Sounds like a lot of fun. Glad all went well.

Best regards to you and the rest of the KPP. Miss ya'all

We miss you too!! When ya gonna be back in town? We need to do some diving.

Carnival and had a great time:) I'm seriously thinking about taking the 4 day cruise to Cozumel next year. The cruise was a great way to travel and the diving was really great.

I was considering going on their 4-day cruise to Cozumel in August, but we decided to go on RCCL to The Bahamas instead. Hopefully it will be as good as yours was!

have a good time. Are you going to do any diving while you're in the Bahama's? If you dive as one of the excursions from the ship make sure you sign up as soon as you get on the ship. Some of these things are limited in numbers they can take and its first come first serve.
