Doing this reef on the Pilot in a few weeks. What was the water temperature when you were there?

Thanks.

water temp was 78-79 degrees at Medio but that was the week of April 19-26th. I bet it has warmed up at least 2-3 degrees since then. Water over at the blue holes on Thursday were around 80. The coldest water was up around Bimini, 77 degress (first and last days).
Have a great time and be sure to post a trip report when you get back! And say hello to all the baby sharks for us!!:D

My arm has finally quit hurting from all the elbows from Robin. :-) Really enjoyed the trip - as I have with all my Nekton trips. I'm pretty well finished fiddling with my photos from the trip. The collection can be see on Flickr at Collection: Nekton Rorqual Medio Reef Bahamas April 2008
Hope to see you guys again somewhere down the road.

Hey Kevin! Great shots there! I love the all little guys, like the fairy basslet, baby jackknifefish, and hamlet portraits. And you got some great shark shots, too!
And the turtle porn shots are great - I am glad you got some. Ours didn't turn out very good.
It was great spending the week with you, well, most of the time....:D When is your next Nekton trip?

Did you get the DVD I sent to you?

Dang, I thought for sure that I had thanked you for the DVD! Sorry if I hadn't, and thanks!

In spite of Capt. Tucker calling that little guy a jackknife, I'm pretty certain it was a highhat. I had never had any luck with fairy basslets previously. The extra pixels with the newer Rebel sure helps.

Hope I wasn't *too* bad on that trip - without my wife there to try to keep me in line. :-) But, like I said, my arm is just about healed up. :-)

No current plans for another Nekton cruise, but I have signed up for a couple of "long weekend" liveaboard trips out of Florida that I've recently researched. Hard to take as many full weeks off as I would like. A Nekton trip *is*, by far, the most comfortable way for me to dive.

Good to hear from you guys.

Kevin

Sounds like a great trip!

Did you book using a local dive shop, travel agent, or direct with Nekton?

We booked directly with them. Just call the 800 number on their website. They can answer any questions you have and tell you all about the trips. :D

hey Kevin and Jeff - did you like the topside video? :D You were both featured a few times (goofy hat guy and the backflip guy) to those who weren't on the boat with us. :D What a great group!

Loved the video. Thanks! That weren't no back flip, though. And, if my knee hadn't gotten so old, it woulda been a full gainer. :D

Good for Ron! You're not gonna let him take it under water, are you?

BTW, I'll be trying the Gulfstream Eagle September 19, and the Ultimate Getaway July 10. Both are short liveaboard trips out of Florida. Just hope the Nekton hasn't spoiled me too badly.
