Mandy3206:Why did you removed the QR buckle?
All the BCs (jacket style) that I've used, all had QR on the shoulder straps and have never presented a problem.
I was just wondering why
Hello Mandy3206,
I was diving with my Brother In Law off Costa Rica and he was diving the same setup as yours with doubles. We were in a small 20' center console where the only place for the gear to be stowed was laying on the floor. He stepped on his qr buckle and cracked it. He simply cut the sewn qr buckle off and ran straight webbing through the sternum ring as it was being done on the other shoulder. After this, I did the same. You are correct that this type of thing probably never happens, but I figured I'd eliminated one less worry...now all I have is webbing and steel. The great thing about this type of harness is that you can open it up much looser than the one piece HOG harness and simply use the sternum strap to snug up the system. This allows no re-sizing when going from dry with extra thermals to light wetsuit. I've thoroughly enjoyed using mine.
