Im just getting started in diving and i am just wondering what are good brands of BCD's and regulators to start looking at. O... and i am looking for reasonable prices.

Welcome to the wonderful world of bubble blowing. As for equipment, there are as many makes and models as there are cars. Problem is, everyone has their favorite. Some are really expensive and some not so expensive.

What you need to do is determine the kind of diving you plan to do for say the next 5 years. Then rent equipment that is geared toward that kind of diving.

What I mean by this is, are you a vacation diver who will only dive once or twice a year? Will you dive only in warm water? Do you plan on moving into cave or technical diving?

Just some things to think about.

You did not say if you had certified yet, or where you will dive. As Quarrior says, if you can put off the actual purchase a while and get by on rentals till you have a really good feel for your style and interrests, you can save a lot of money. Getting a great price now on gear you'll outgrow in a year or two or worse, gear that does not suit your style at all costs you a lot more in the end.

I am going to be finishing my cert. on the 2nd in mexico. Im not trying to buy any thing before then. I live im minnesota and i would be lake diving but i will also be making trips to more tropical areas.
