Just Back, Nekton Bahamas NW, WK of 8/12/06

We may book the Grand Cayman trip for April/May 2007. Not sure yet. A couple we met on the Bahamas had done the Cayman itinerary this past May and said it was their best of 3 other Nekton trips but that it's important to time the trip to the season to ensure a crossing over to Little Cayman and Cayman Brac. They said Little Cayman was spectacular.

Thanks for the warning Don! We'll be doing the NW Bahamas in June, 2007 then 2008 will take us to Truk Lagoon on the Odyssey. Looks like if we "follow you" to Cayman it won't be for a few years. :blinking:

But I will still look forward to a trip report if you do the Cayman itinerary on the Rorqual.

Excellent shot of the jaw fish!! I wish I could get one to hold still for me like that!! Glad you had a good trip. I can see why people were not too excited by Bimini, as there is just not too much there at all. and the Hemingway/bar thing dearly needs a redo/facelift IMHO. I did get a kick out of the used golfcart lot, in place of a used car lot!!!

It did, he may be referring to the End of the World, the bar with the panties on the ceiling. Although the Compleat Angler only burned down last January so maybe he was there before.

Bummer, I really wanted to stop there this summer on our Nekton trip.
