One certainty--warmer ocean than CT! I'm guessing I've been to Roatan about 8-10 times in the fall over the past 25 years. This was the only problem for us--and this one was no huge deal. I think it has been twice where there have been big waves that takes out docks, etc. in that time. There are no local storms, last week had perfectly nice Bonaire days. The fall is peak hurricane season--all of the storms have passed way north and turned to the north before hitting my house in Florida--so far! Still we had waves on Bonaire from the south that couple of days. Are these waves reflected off the Venezuelan coast? Who knows.
