New to the dive scene. Just moved to Florida, and thought hmmm... what to do with all this lovely warm water :mostlysun

No cert yet, in the planning and funding stages for gear and the course.

Niice. Well, scuba diving can be a lot of fun once you get the hang of it. I don't know about your course requirments, but you usually don't have to buy all the gear right away, you can just rent some of it. A little advice though, if you're going to buy it, buy stuff that will last. Meaning don't buy a cheap BC because it costs less and then get a better one later, get a good one now (if you must) so it won't need replacing in a month or two. ;) Good luck.

Howdy!

Welcome to SB!!
:happywave Put us in your computer's favorites and check in often. This is a great place to learn, compare, argue :argue: Look around our various forums - everything from New-To-Scuba to Instructors-Only to Dive Medicine.

I fly to Florida 2 or 3 times a year to dive the southern Keys. You are in a much better position for training, buying gear, and the diving. Get to know the people on the Florida forum.
