I bought a DUI TLS350 drysuit and had been eagerly awaiting its arrival. Well I got home last night and low and behold its waiting on my door step. It just so happens that the wife had to fly to New York for a business trip so I had the house to my self. So being excited I ate dinner and then stripped down to the undies to try the suit on. Being a front entry EZ zip I figured no problem. I got my legs in and then get my arms in and pulled the neck seal on and zipped it up. It was a little tricky being the first time but not bad. I then strut around like a rooster checking it out in the mirror "all dressed up and no place to go!!!" I soon tired of admiring it and went to take it off. Unzipped it and tried to get my arms out. Not quite!!! I could not get my arms out of the suit. I tried everything I could think of including trying to stick plastic coat hanger under the zipper to shoe horn it off. NO luck. Well now I'm sweating and the suit is sticking to me making the situation worse and 45 minutes have gone by and I started getting a little worried. I live near a lake in the middle of nowhere and was really dreading having to walk down the road to the neighbors to have them help me out of my suit. Since I was sweating I decided I would go outside "about 20 degrees out" and cool off. After a few minutes of cooling off the suit quit sticking to my skin as much and I realize that when I had unzipped the suit I had not unzipped it all the way and it was still closed abou 2 to 3 inches or so. Amazing what a few inches will do!!! Once I fully unzipped the suit I was able to get out of it no problem!!! So total time to put on 5 minutes. Total time to get out of a little over an hour!. Lesson learned, make sure the wife is around to help until I get use to the suit! Had me a little worried!!!

Great story...

LOL  It's funny the situations we get our selfs into isn't?

Glad you found the extra zipper length! Congrats on the new suit!!

David, This is a fantastic story. This could be a cartoon - "Wylie Coyote and the Acme Dry Suit". I don't dive dry so all I can do is laugh. Thanks for the funny. Dave

NEVER get into a drysuit without a buddy! What were you thinking? Solo drysuit wearing requires years of training and experience, backup equipment, failsafes etc.
Great story, I'm now going to try on my custom 5mm for the first time!

I did the same thing. But with a wetsuit. I tried mine on and for some reason could not reach the zipper. Even though i had done it countless times before. Almost started freaking out, girlfriend was at work. But finally was able to reach it. Not wanting to go to neighbors or her work was my motivation. That would haunt me for the rest of my life and then some.

I did the same thing in my new DUI but didn't even zip the suit up. It took me about 10 minutes to wiggle my arms out. I felt like a mental patient trying to escape from a straightjacket! I had trouble just getting out of the upper half of the suit!

Reminds me of my demented dance trying to rid myself of my backplate . . . :)
