The current is back with a vengence! We had two or three weeks with no current and it was so nice while it lasted. We went south of Jupiter in 100+ feet. Vis was 70-80'. Bugs were not as plentiful as they had been the past few weeks. It was really tough going, even with my scooter, and I had to just wave at the bugs as I passed by holes I couldn't get to (or didn't dare crawl back to; swimming back was out of the question.) Then there is the getting the grappling hook to the dive float unhooked from the bottom. The float gets totally submerged, and when you do unhook it, you are basically a sling shot and can do nothing except hold on. I got my limit of bugs on first dive. We ended up with 9 total. The best catch of the day was an 8 pound hog fish, which is probably the biggest I've gotten outside of the Bahamas. It swam perpendicular to me, and I was lucky to get a long shot off. The spear got him right at the gill, but the barbs didn't go through all the way. Some how, I was able to hold on to the gun and scooter, anchor the float and get back to the fish before he could shake off. Two other hogs showed up after I shot him. One was just as big; the other smaller. I was in no position to take another shot.

During Gerry's first dive, the hook pulled out of the bottom and he spent 5 minutes and tons of air swimming after it... His second dive was in 60 feet with much less current. He was able to spear many lion fish on dive #2.
